About the Owner
The personal touch behind
an exceptional stay
In 2010, the Countess of Harrowby, an interior designer and author, was visiting a potential renovation project when she noticed a house on a nearby hill. Its position, beauty, and sense of seclusion immediately stood out. When she was later able to purchase the property, she set about restoring it to its former glory.
The main restoration took two years, but the house continues to evolve as a long-term labour of love, with new pieces and artifacts added over time. Caroline lives in the Cotswolds with her husband and two cocker spaniels and escapes to Villa Sartiano whenever she can.
